I recently read a fic where Spencer was abducted on his way to visit his mother. He was taken from an airport by a group of international criminals who were going to try to (forciby, if necessary) recruit him, and got past a security detail with the military to do it. Apparently, such an abduction was enough of a concern and Spencer is considered valuable enough that he has an official protective detail. Spencer escapes, calls Hotch (Haley is none too pleased when he goes to get Spencer), and all interested parties - Hotch, Gideon, and an actual general, I believe - show up at this motel in Wyoming to retrieve Spencer.
Unfortunately, I apparently did not bookmark this fic so anyone who can link it has my eternal love. Also, if anyone can rec similar fics - where Spencer is on a 'list' similar to Garcia, where Spencer is abducted by political groups in an effort at forcible recruitment, where Spencer is considered so valuable an asset (or just someone that they can't afford losing) that he has an assigned security detail - you have my undying gratitude because this idea now will not leave me alone.
